Dr Jeremy Alford

Healing demands courage—a kind of confrontation to stand up for oneself.

Our actions carve the path to a renewed narrative.

My name is Jeremy Alford

I am a clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of mental health experience working in multicultural settings in Europe, the Middle East, and South East Asia. I’ve worked with many people who have struggled with difficult life experiences and conditions from different parts of the world, many of whom have found peace and transformation.

I believe in an eclectic approach to therapy, combining different evidence-based modalities that have a proven scientific basis for the process of healing and recovery. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Hypnotherapy, Biofeedback, and Mindfulness. I would like to emphasize that within CBT, I have gone through additional training throughout the years to enhance my professional skills which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Emotional Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Enhanced. I ensure to continue my professional development through training and updates each year to ensure that I keep offering the best standards of care. I have equally completed a certificate in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy with the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in the US which I am thrilled about, as this relatively new field of research has yielded promising results for many people who do not respond to available routes of treatment.

I have found that an integrative way of working yields better results when working with people from diverse backgrounds. Having different origins and having lived in various countries throughout my life, I've naturally developed an inclination towards adapting to and supporting people with various cultures, ethnicities, races, and gender diversity.

My Path

Having worked in different settings, and in particular in private practice, as well as in different countries, what I do comes almost naturally to me. I have always been fascinated by our human mind and the various expressions of our sufferings. We all have different paths and struggles. I so happen to have been fortunate to have found my calling when discovering the field called psychology when I was 18 years old, and after visiting a psychologist’s office one day, I immediately knew that this was what I was meant to do. Having undergone a process of therapy myself, it has not only helped me in my healing journey to make sense of my traumas, and how they kept manifesting in my life choices and relations but it has enabled me to grow and become a leader of my life.

My Qualifications

I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society. I hold a BA, MPhil, and PhD from the University College Kensington . I am also a member of the International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy, and the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis. For more information, you can visit my LinkedIn Profile.
