Healing demands courage—a kind of confrontation to stand up for oneself.
Our actions carve the path to a renewed narrative.
My name is Jeremy Alford
I am a psychologist with over 20 years of experience in mental health, working in multicultural settings across Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. My professional journey has allowed me to support individuals from diverse backgrounds who face challenging life experiences and conditions. Witnessing their growth, healing, and transformation has been both humbling and inspiring.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic and integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities to tailor the process of healing and recovery to each individual. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Coaching (CBC), Hypnotherapy, Biofeedback, and Mindfulness practices. Within CBT, I have undertaken advanced training to deepen my expertise, incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Emotional Behavioral Therapy (CEBT), and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E) into my practice. This commitment to ongoing professional development ensures I continue to offer the highest standards of care.
In addition to my expertise in traditional therapeutic modalities, I have earned a certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in the United States. This emerging field offers innovative and promising pathways for individuals who have not responded to conventional treatments, and I am thrilled to be part of this transformative frontier in mental health care.
Having lived in various countries and experienced different cultures firsthand, I bring a deep understanding of cultural, ethnic, racial, and gender diversity to my work. This integrative and adaptive perspective has proven invaluable in supporting clients from all walks of life. By embracing each individual's unique story and background, I aim to foster an environment of acceptance, growth, and meaningful change.
My Path
Having worked in diverse settings, particularly in private practice and across various countries, my work feels like a natural extension of who I am. From an early age, I have been captivated by the intricacies of the human mind and the myriad ways in which our struggles and suffering manifest. Each person’s journey is unique, marked by individual challenges and triumphs.
My path to becoming a psychologist began at the age of 18 when I first encountered this fascinating field. A visit to a psychologist’s office solidified my sense of purpose, and I knew immediately that this was the work I was meant to pursue. Engaging in therapy myself was a transformative experience. It not only helped me process and heal from my own traumas but also illuminated how those experiences shaped my life choices and relationships.
This personal journey has profoundly informed my professional practice, enriching my ability to support others. By combining my lived experience with evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I aim to foster a sense of empowerment and possibility in those I work with, guiding them toward meaningful growth and transformation.
